Rave Reviews

by Jen Nigro, Coordinator of Volunteers

One of the best parts of my job is getting to hear about all of the books you are reading for Audio-Reader. A day doesn’t go by when someone doesn’t pop in to tell me about their latest title, their favorite characters or a plot they just can’t bear to be apart from during the week between readings. So I got to thinking—wouldn’t it be fun to share some of those thoughts with our listeners? Now at the same time, I was thinking about our relatively new Facebook page, and ways to make it more interactive for our fans. (For those who aren’t on Facebook, bear with the lingo for a bit; you don’t have to be on Facebook to get involved in this project!)

As I considered these two ideas, it came to me; why not use our Facebook page to promote our book readings? I quickly set to task putting reminders in my calendar to post new book titles on the day they would begin airing. Then I decided to take it a step further (and here’s where you come in!) I would like each of you to write a short review, or just a few comments about the books you read. I’ll post these along with the title, author and air dates so our listeners can hear what YOU thought of the book before they listen to you read it! I will try to contact you before your book airs to ask for your comments, but if you have a chance to jot something down for me when you finish the book, that would be even better; that way, memory doesn’t fade. If you really didn't like the book or read it long ago and can't remember much about it, please don't stress-- these reviews aren't required, just a fun way to interact with our listeners.

In addition to helping promote these titles before they air, your reviews can help all of Audio-Reader’s fans find great books to read. Thanks in advance for your help!
