New Faces
by Jen Nigro, Coordinator of Volunteers Cindy Baker is a retired school teacher. She enjoys fitness and reading in her spare time. Cindy says she’s looking forward to volunteering for something she cares about. She begins by reading part of Wednesday’s Topeka Capital-Journal for Telephone Reader. Beth Bodine is semi-retired, running her own home business. In the past, she’s worked as a teacher, a fundraiser and an executive assistant. Beth enjoys playing piano, computer games, church, PEO and of course spending time with her grandson. She begins by reading Special Requests. Leslie Campbell is a teacher and Library Media Specialist for Prairie Park Elementary in Lawrence. She enjoys walking, quilting and reading in her spare time. Leslie begins by reading Remembrances from Sunday’s Kansas City Star. Daniel Dyer is a firefighter who specializes in battling wildfires. He enjoys playing soccer and board games in his spare time as well as reading. Daniel begins by reading the sports section of Wednesday’s Kansas City Star for Telephone Reader. Rich Housh is a grad student at KU studying film. He hails from Ohio and enjoys listening to records and reading in his spare time. Rich begins by reading Friday’s University Daily Kansan for Telephone Reader. Tirzah Richards is a high school junior from Topeka. She enjoys baking, gardening and sewing, and works part-time as a baker for a Topeka restaurant. Tirzah starts by reading newsletters for Telephone Reader. |
